    Los Angeles Unified has organized the following guide to inform school communities about safety access requirements at school sites and District facilities.

  • Parents and Guardians Visiting a Main Office: Questions, Inquiries and Information

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a parent if I am going to visit a campus office for general questions, inquiries and to access information?

    Parents and families must take the Daily Health Check if visiting a school office for a transaction that may include asking questions, requesting information or content for the child.

     

    Parents And Guardians Attending IEP, Intake and Assessments, Mandated Training, and Campus Conferences With Personnel

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill if I am attending a 1-1 or small group session with school personnel that is required, and student-centered?

    Parents and families must schedule a COVID-19 Test through the Daily Pass or upload a negative test to the Daily Pass. In addition, they must take the Daily Health Check when they have required and scheduled 1-1 and small group sessions with personnel for student-centered coordination of services.

     

    Parents, Families and Community Participating In After School Sporting Events

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a spectator in order to attend Los Angeles Unified sporting events held on school facilities?

    Sporting event spectators attend competitions after school hours will be asked to take the Daily Health Check before accessing a venue. This guidance is aligned to direction provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

     

    School Volunteer Program

    What safety protocols and requirements must I fulfill in order to serve as a school volunteer at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    School volunteers must meet the COVID-19 vaccination deadlines adopted by Los Angeles Unified for personnel. This includes having at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on file in the Daily Pass by October 15 and completing vaccination by November 15. Volunteers are also required to provide a negative COVID-19 baseline test and receive a weekly test to continue volunteering. Los Angeles Unified has also activated On Demand Safety Volunteers for those who are not already approved volunteers and who wish to help their campus in an expedited manner. They will need to ask the school site administrator for a paper application, only show a copy of required COVID-19 vaccination card and schedule a COVID-19 baseline test through the Daily Pass or provider of choice to serve short term. This new process will expedite their service following the District’s safety criteria. They will also be asked to complete the online application available at https://achieve.lausd.net/Page/10443 in order to receive a badge and to continue volunteering for a longer period of time.

     

    Partnerships and SHHS No-Cost MOUs

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a service provider that has a Memorandum of Understanding with Los Angeles Unified in order to continue serving at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    External non-profit organizations offering school sites with no-cost services complete a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in coordination with Los Angeles Unified Wellness Programs, following guidance available at https://achieve.lausd.net/Page/14113. After the MOU is approved, personnel from the organization who will interact with the school campus request a single sign-on at https://oneaccess.lausd.net. The Single Sign-On activates a Los Angeles Unified account for persons to complete the Daily Pass and to complete the District’s COVID-19 testing and vaccination safety requirements. This includes for the organization to complete the Covid-19 Vaccination Certification Form for all personnel providing services on school campuses/facilities by October 15.

     

    Parent Organizations (PTA, PTO and Booster Clubs Parent Members)

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a member of a parent organization (PTA, PTO, Booster Club) if I am volunteering on a Los Angeles Unified campus and facility in order to continue serving at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    Parent organization members volunteering at a Los Angeles Unified facility must meet the COVID-19 vaccination deadlines adopted by Los Angeles Unified for personnel. This includes having at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on file in the Daily Pass by October 15 and completing vaccination by November 15. Parent organizations are also required to provide a negative COVID-19 baseline test which can be completed at a Los Angeles Unified site offered in Daily Pass and receive a weekly test with the school site mobile unit or with a provider of choice to continue volunteering. To access the Daily Pass for volunteer activities, complete the School Volunteer Program application available at https://achieve.lausd.net/Page/10443. If Parent Organizations wish to host a fundraiser, contact your school site and refer to BUL-1633.3 available at https://achieve.lausd.net/domain/849.

     

    Facilities Real Estate & Asset Development

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a third-party organization who is using school facilities after school hours and on weekends under a license or permit, in order to continue serving at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    Third parties using a school facility after hours and on weekends under a District issued permit or license are required to follow the guidance provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for the activity, location on the campus (indoor or outdoor) age group, etc. (Do not use Daily Pass for after school and weekend activities.)

     

    Counselors and Student Teachers HR

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as a college intern from an organization or university who has established an agreement with Los Angeles Unified in order to continue serving at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    College students who need to fulfill service hours as part of their program of study must contact their program to determine if they have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Los Angeles Unified. If the program is a District approved program, college student interns may contact AskHR@lausd.net to request an assignment with Los Angeles Unified. Once approved the intern will request a single sign-on at https://oneaccess.lausd.net. The Single Sign-On activates a Los Angeles Unified account for persons to complete the Daily Pass and to fulfill the District’s COVID-19 testing and vaccination safety requirements. This includes for student interns to upload their COVID-19 vaccination card aligned to the October 15 vaccination requirements.

     

    Vendors/Procurement/Construction

    What safety protocols and requirements should I fulfill as an employee of a third-party contractor in order to continue serving at a Los Angeles Unified facility?

    Third-party vendors and contractors are required to self-certify all personnel have met the Los Angeles Unified COVID-19 safety requirements. This means contractors are to ensure their personnel are meeting the District’s vaccination deadlines and fulfilling COVID-19 testing requirements. These groups do not use Daily Pass.
