Email Service Interruption - Apple Mail


Modern Authentication Issue

A recent update to the email system may have caused some employees to experience problems accessing their e-mail, calendars, and contacts using an application called Apple Mail.  

If you’re using Apple Mail on an iOS or a macOS device, then you may have received a login error such as “Cannot verify user name or password” or “Cannot connect to the account ‘Exchange’” or any other related e-mail synching issue may be encountered.

This issue can be resolved by:

  1. Making certain iOS and macOS are up-to date
  2. Deleting your existing LAUSD Exchange e-mail account in Apple Mail and setting it up again


You can always obtain immediate access to your email using your web browser. To do so, login to your Office 365 account via the Internet at or from any computer or mobile device.
