How is school eligibility determined?

Schools must meet the eligibility requirements as determined by the settlement agreement. Eligible schools are defined as “all public kindergarten through grade twelve schools where at least 40 percent of attending students are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).” Eligible schools also include “…public high schools that serve students from public elementary, middle, and junior high schools where at least 40% of the attending students are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals through the NSLP.”
