Child & Adult Care Feeding Program (Early Education Centers)
The USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care and making it more affordable for many low-income families. This program makes it possible to provide nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks to every child in a day care facility. Snacks are also available to youth participating in eligible afterschool care programs.
LAUSD has 100 Early Education Centers and 17 eligible afterschool programs at these facilities; each receives funding for meals through the CACFP. Families participating in this program need to complete and submit a meal application every year.
