framework for connecting knowledge from the various disciplines into a
coherent and scientifically based view of the world.
The Crosscutting Concepts in the NGSS are: Patterns; Cause and
effect; Mechanism and explanation; Scale, proportion and quantity;
Systems and system models; Energy and matter: Flows, cycles, and
conservation; Structure and function; Stability and change.
