Co.Protect Donates 10,000 Halloween-Themed Face Masks to Children

LOS ANGELES (October 26, 2020) – Joining Los Angeles Unified’s relief efforts this week are the folks at Co.Protect, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of branded protective equipment. The company donated 10,000 Halloween-themed face masks to help children stay safe while celebrating the spirit of Halloween.

“We hope these masks put a smile on the faces of children while keeping them safe,” Superintendent Austin Beutner said. “The best way to reduce the spread of the virus is for everyone in the community to follow the health guidelines provided by state and local authorities.”

Featuring images like pumpkins and ghosts, the disposable, FDA-certified masks offer 3-ply protection and will be distributed to students who get a COVID-19 test at a Los Angeles Unified testing center on Oct. 31.

“Los Angeles is our home and Los Angeles Unified students are our neighborhood kids,” Co-founder and CEO of Co.Protect Tom Penn said. “We know children have been affected greatly by COVID-19 and hopefully this donation will help protect a few more kids on what should be one of the happiest nights of the year.”

The masks were donated to LA Students Most in Need, the charity established to support Los Angeles Unified’s relief effort which has provided more than 72 million meals to students, families and community members, along with more than 8 million much-needed household, baby and recreational items. LA Students Most in Need has raised more than $6 million in cash and donated goods. To donate to the effort, text NEED to 76278 or visit LAStudentsMostInNeed.org.
