    MiSiS Announcements:

    MiSiS Ad-Hoc Reporting and Dashboards

Due to a feature addition, there will be a service interruption to the MiSiS Ad–Hoc Reporting and Dashboard today, Thursday, August 17th, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Users will not be able to log in during this time.

    Access to MiSiS

In preparation for the school opening, the MiSiS team granted temporary Teacher access to staff members who had sections assigned to them but had not applied for access. This was done to lower the number of Help Desk calls and to ensure that teachers could submit attendance on the first day of school. If you have not applied for access to MiSiS using the EZ Access application (http://ezaccess.lausd.net), you are strongly encouraged to do so. Your temporary access will expire on October 9, 2017.

    No Show Reminders

Directions for the No Show Process are available here:  No Show Process.

Students must be marked absent with the reason code of Unresolved for every period to be flagged as a No Show.

    1. Do not withdraw a student flagged as a No Show. The nightly process will update the withdrawal for the student.
    2. The No Show process runs every night at 6 pm.
    3. The No Show Report (Reports > Enrollment > No Show Report) generates a list of No Show students.

MiSiS Announcements for the Start of the Year

The MiSiS team has developed some suggestions for the opening of the new school year.  Please be sure to review the Opening of the School Year 2017-2018 Checklist.

Preparing for the Opening of the 2017-2018 School Year

The suggestions have been posted here.  Please review the document.

    Turning Off the MiSiS Gradebook

The MiSiS secondary Gradebook has been transitioned to the Schoology Gradebook effective immediately for the 2017-18 school year. The historical records in MiSiS will still be available to teachers throughout the 2017-2018 school year. The new Gradebook can be accessed through Schoology’s Learning Management System (LMS) using your District SSO at: lms.lausd.net.

    Elementary Schools

The MiSiS Gradebook is not available to elementary schools due to the implementation of California Content Standards (CCS).

    Enrollment

    • Bugs Impacting Enrollment in TK and Kindergarten
      • A bug is preventing schools from enrolling students in TK with a birthdate of 9/2/12 and Kindergarten students with a birthdate of 9/1/2012. This bug only impacts students with those specific birthdates.
      • A second bug is preventing schools from entering an E7 First School code if the student has a prior enrollment with an Entry Code of E Pre K/TE.  The workaround is to enroll the student with another E Code, save the record, and then edit the record to the correct E7 code.  The MiSiS team is working to resolve these issues.  Refer to the MiSiS job aide for complete directions for enrolling a student: Enroll a Student and Assign Classes.

    • Auto withdrawal tips
Auto withdrawal allows schools to enroll a student currently enrolled at another school.  During the enrollment search, when clicking on “Enroll Student” you will be prompted when the student has a current enrollment at another school. Please check that you have searched for, and have selected, the correct student before proceeding. You can click on the Profile link to verify a student’s and parent’s information if needed: birthday, language etc. Do not click OK until you are positive you have the correct student record. When the enrollment is saved, the student will be automatically exited from the previous school with the correct L code and exit date for the previous day.

To generate a list of students who have been auto withdrawn from your school, use the Auto Withdrawal Report.

    • No Show Students
Schools may enter No Show flags before school starts.  For directions,  refer to the job aid: No Show Process.  No show students are processed nightly at 6 pm.  For a list of students flagged and processed as a No Show, use the No Show Report.

    • Re-Enrolling No Show Students
If a student has been processed as a No Show, he/she will need to be re-enrolled and scheduled.
The enrollment screen will now display the address and permit information, if applicable, for a returning No Show student. A new report, No Show Schedule Summary Report, provides the last scheduled section for No Show students.
