The Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Program is governed by a collaborative panel comprised of 5 UTLA teachers and 4 District administrators. PAR employs Consulting Teachers who provide confidential support to teachers who have received a below standard evaluation, and to teachers who request assistance. Additionally, PAR provides professional development classes throughout the year, open to all teachers, and provides 6 hours of credit per class toward a salary point. PAR has one goal – to support teachers with effective instructional strategies in a confidential and collaborative peer to peer structure, in order to ensure the best possible educational experience for all LAUSD students.
