Benefits Administration is responsible for the management of medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, retirement plans, COBRA/AB528 continuation coverage, and various voluntary benefit programs such as optional life insurance and flexible spending accounts for eligible employees, retirees, and their dependents.

IDM is responsible for employee absence, disability management, and industrial injury related functions in the District. IDM is composed of two sections: Disability Management and Workers' Compensation. Each section has a unique role in promoting the return of injured, ill, or disabled employees to gainful employment.
