    Los Angeles Unified was awarded $6 million dollars in California Community Schools Partnership grant funds to support and expand its community schools.  The California Community Schools Partnership Grant is a competitive grant opportunity for all California-based school districts, county offices of education, and classroom-based charter schools to support and expand existing community schools with a total of $45 million dollars in funding. In response to the grant opportunity, The Los Angeles Unified School District submitted two applications comprised of the 17 schools under its Community Schools Initiative Program, with both grant applications selected and awarded the maximum allocation of $3 million dollars.
