Welcome to the Teacher Training Academy (TTA) website. We are committed to providing quality professional learning and support to teachers participating in our orientation, certification and induction programs. TTA provides training to newly certified and alternatively certified teachers in LAUSD. Trainings are designed to prepare new teachers who are new to LAUSD with the necessary skills to best support our culturally and academically diverse student population. TTA provides the following differentiated trainings throughout the year: 

• New Teacher Orientation (NTO) for alternatively-certified General Education and Special Education teachers
• Substitute Teacher Orientation (STO) for substitute teachers new to LAUSD
• Tailored Special Education for credentialed teachers new to Special Education

All trainings and orientations engage participants by utilizing adult learning theory to support the education and growth of the inter-generational pool of teachers hired and assigned to our schools. Facilitators model ​research-based teaching practice in the areas of culturally responsive pedagogy in content, instructional delivery, and classroom management.
