The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education is committed to expediting a confidential recruitment process to attract the most qualified candidates who possess the skills needed to lead our District as the new Superintendent.
The District is working with Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates as a consultant in this search. The firm has agreed to honor the provision in their earlier agreement to perform a subsequent recruitment at no charge (save certain costs).
Approximately two years ago, the Board participated in an extensive community outreach effort for input in the selection of the Superintendent. Board members are currently reviewing this robust community input and are also exploring additional stakeholder outreach opportunities.
The Board will continue to meet regularly on this topic until a new Superintendent is selected.
In 2015, nearly 9,500 participants took a survey on qualities they would like to see in the District's next Superintendent.
Criteria for Candidates
The Board of Education established a list of qualifications for Superintendent candidates.
