    National Research Council's Framework
     NRC Framework  A Framework for K-12 Science Education: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Core Ideas (2012) is the framework on which the new standards are built and can be downloaded for free at their website. Hard copies of the national framework can also be purchased using school funds. 
     
     
     Next Generation Science Standards
     
     nextgenscience.org The NGSS standards can be found at http://nextgenscience.org.  As we move from awareness to transition into the new standards, focusing on the 8 science and engineering practices, which are described more fully in Appendix F of the Standards, is very important.
