Parents of African American Students Study Group (PAASSG)

The study group will support families in navigating educational and support systems to improve their student’s readiness to learn and work closely as partners to engage, develop, and empower African American students to reach their full potential. Participants review data and research related to the African American population as a way for providing feedback on current practices aimed at increasing student achievement for African American students.

Discovery Education Experience is a one-stop-shop in which families can discover dynamic educational content to engage and support their children. From themed “grab-and-go” daily activities to captivating Virtual Field Trips and immersive student challenges, Experience offers families secure, reliable resources to help students continue learning outside of the traditional school day.
Students can log into Discovery Education two ways:
1. They can go directly to https://lausd.discoveryeducation.com and sign in with their district email and password.
2. They can also go to Schoology, select the waffle
and scroll to find Discovery Education

LCAP Study Group 2020-2021

The LCAP Study Group allows parents to participate in evaluating the programs currently in use in LAUSD as well as the funding of each program. Participants also provide feedback that is presented to the District’s Superintendent for consideration for change in the students’ educational program. In addition, parents are given the opportunity to serve on the District-level Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). To learn how to participate click on the flyers below.

ELAC Study Group 2020 - 2021

The ELAC Study Group is an opportunity for parents to gain a deeper understanding and advocate for English learner students by reviewing matters pertinent to and about EL programs. Participants are trained on the purpose of the school site ELAC committee. Parents of this study group are also provided the opportunity to collaborate in the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) to reflect the input of Local District parents.
