    Music Center

The Music Center’s 2015 Institute for Educators professional development program, Moving Poetry, will be held from July 20-24. This week-long intensive training at The Music Center offers powerful strategies to engage students through the arts, fostering creativity, community building, collaboration, social-personal development, and Common Core values in rigorous and joyful ways.

Throughout the week, teachers will collaborate with their peers to bring poetry to life through movement and music. Led by Music Center teaching artists Tiffany Bong (dance) and Andrew Grueschow (music), the Institute is open to K-8 classroom teachers, arts teachers, and educators who are excited to:

    ·         Engage in hands-on movement and music experiences with Music Center teaching artists
    ·         Navigate Common Core through the arts
    ·         Gain creative and effective strategies for student-centered learning
    ·         Participate in meaningful and reflective discussions with their peers

Join us this summer at The Music Center for this rich and engaging experience while earning up to 2 LAUSD salary points or 3 LMU extension semester units.
