The Literacy/Language Arts team in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction, and School Support (OCISS) works to provide LAUSD school site, service center staff, and families with resources and information to support high-quality instruction, assessment, and intervention. As education moves rapidly forward in the 21st century with the Common Core State Standards, digital technology, and new assessments, it is the goal of the Literacy/Language Arts team--elementary and secondary--to assist teachers in creating and implementing an English Language Arts instructional program that meets the needs of all our students, bringing creativity, innovation, and rigor to all classrooms.
