    Building Educators Assessment Literacy (BEAL) Training builds teacher capacity and knowledge around the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) by giving teachers an opportunity to practice scoring SBAC student performance task responses.   • California Math Access for Grades 6 - 8

    Our school site administrators and RSP teachers can now access the California Math product through the SSO system. Click on School Admin/RSP Teacher for instructions. Teachers can set up their classes by following the teacher and student instructions. They can also access the digital resources using their tablet device (Android, Win8, or iPad). Click on tablet instructions for more information.

  • Secondary Math Textbook Trainings

    Join the Division of Instruction, Local Districts, and publishers as we present the following textbook trainings:

    • A two-day summer PD scheduled on August 10-11, 2016, to support teachers new to CPM, Big Ideas, and SpringBoard adopted textbooks for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. This training is also available to our middle school teachers teaching any of the mentioned high school courses.
    • An optional training focused on the digital textbook content and resources for our CA MATH users. This PD is scheduled to take place on August 4, 2016.

  • Secondary Mathematics Memos

    MEM-6458.0, Middle and High School Courses and Pathways, provides information to schools regarding the mathematics pathways and courses aligned to the Common Core State Standards. This Memorandum provides guidelines to schools regarding student placement in mathematics courses. This Memorandum also provides guidelines for student placement in mathematics courses and acceleration points for moving some students through the standards at an accelerated pace

    MEM-6650.0, Guidelines for the Implementation of the LAUSD Placement Mathematics Assessment for Grades 6, provides information and guidelines on the new Middle School Mathematics Placement Assessment administered to all Grade 6 students and selected Grade 5 students. This along with other data points will be used for placement as the District continues with full implementation of the Common Core State Standards-Mathematics (CCSS-M) for the school year 2016-2017.

    MEM-6651.0, Guidelines for the Implementation of the LAUSD Algebra 1 Middle School Summative Assessment, provides information and guidelines for the implementation of Algebra 1 Summative Assessment for middle school students enrolled in CC Algebra 1.

  • Intent to Offer Financial Algebra 2 Deadline

  • Middle School Math Pathway Parent Presentation - Now Online!

    Parents of 5th and 6th graders who are unable to attend their Local District presentations about the Common Core Mathematics Pathways can now view the presentation online and submit an online form to verify they watched the presentation. Teachers, counselors and administrators are also invited to watch the short presentation if they want to learn more. To launch the online presentation, click on Math Pathways.

  • Amplify Placement Assessment Training

    This training is for elementary and middle school testing designees and teachers to understand how to administer the online version of the LAUSD Middle School Mathematics Placement Assessment and the ACC CC Algebra 1 Summative Assessment, and use the Amplify Testing Platform.

    Each elementary and middle school may send two representatives to be trained to administer the exam. Click here for more information.

  • 5th and 6th Grade Parent Meeting: Math Accelerated Programs

    The Middle School Math Acceleration Parent Meeting is to inform 5th through 6th grade parents about the different math pathways in middle and high school. During the meetings, parents will learn how students can accelerate in middle and high school, and the requirements for acceleration. The parent meeting is a requirement for any parent who is considering acceleration for their current 5th grade child in sixth grade, and is recommended for parents whose child is currently in 5th and 6th grade. Click here for flyer.
