Elementary Dance CurriculumThe elementary dance curriculum is based on the Elementary Arts Instructional Guide (AIG) in Dance. The AIG is constructed using the principle of backward design.Curriculum at each grade level consists of a series of three modules, each of which is constructed around an Enduring Understanding distilled from the California State Standards for Dance. Modules are not ordered in any specific sequence. Each module contains Essential Questions, a Sample Performance Task and Rubric, a series of Developing Concepts and accompanying Skills and Knowledge. Secondary Dance Curriculum
Current LAUSD middle and high school dance courses are listed below. Each course addresses California State Content Standards in Dance.
Please note that "F" credit is currently available for Beginning Dance Choreography/Production A/B, Beginning Ballet AB, Beginning Tap A/B, Choreographic Process SH A/B, Dance A/B, Jazz Dance SH 1A/1B and Modern Dance SH 1 A/B.
