California Subject Examination for World Languages (CSET World Languages):

Master Plan Verification helps teachers subsidize some examination costs for obtaining the BCLAD authorization by providing a voucher for the CSET World Languages Exam. Current LAUSD Full-Time Teachers who have passed the district fluency exam at the “A” or “B” Level or complete an approved training may qualify for a CSET World Languages Examination Voucher. A CSET World Languages Voucher will cover the cost of the exam and the Program Management Fee upon verification of “A” or “B” Level Fluency, or for any subtests that an approved training has been completed and verified. Master Plan Verification does NOT cover any additional fees including any late registration fees. Once a qualifying fluency level is verified or an approved preparation class has been completed, one must submit a voucher request. If an employee has district fluency at the “A” or “B” Level, but does not pass a section of the exam, the employee can register for an approved training and request another voucher upon its completion.

**NOTE as of July 2016:  The Translations Unit is not able to offer the District Fluency Examination.  However, if you would like to take the examination, please contact Felicia Cook-Montgomery at (213) 241-5300 x-29145 to add your name to the District Fluency Interest List.

For a list of approved trainings, please contact LACOE's Multilingual Academic Support (MAS) Unit. Participants will be eligible for a voucher for each approved class completed.
