Family Care Leave

A FAMILY CARE LEAVE may be granted for birth of a child of the employee, adoption or foster care of a child by employee, serious health condition of a child of the employee, the employee’s own serious health condition or the care of a parent or spouse who has a serious health condition. The employee must have been employed for at least 12 months and have served for 130 workdays during the 12 months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. This is an unpaid leave, but the District maintains health benefits for the employee.

- Teacher has return rights back to the same school.
- Benefits are maintained.
