Intensive Diagnostic Education Centers (IDEC)
The ability to read continues to be the primary pathway to learning. Students who struggle with basic literacy skills face lifelong challenges. IDEC classes were established throughout the District by the Division of Special Education to implement innovative evidence-based approaches to reading, and writing for students with disabilities.
Students placed in IDEC are taught individually and in small groups. They learn how to read, comprehend and develop improved writing skills through direct instruction.
