High school students can take advantage of summer school courses for credit recovery or accelerating high school graduation and preparation for post-secondary education.

9th - 12th Grade, Summer Term
High school students currently enrolled in Los Angeles Unified can take advantage of the Summer Term program. This program offers credit recovery courses and opportunities to accelerate progress toward high school graduation and preparation for post-secondary education. The program is structured with two periods of in-person classes taught by Los Angeles Unified secondary teachers and two periods of fully virtual asynchronous courses.
Program Dates: June 26 – July 25
Times: Monday to Friday
- Period 1: 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
- Nutrition: 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
- Period 2: 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Period 3 & 4: Asynchronous (Edgenuity curriculum)

Eligibility: Current Los Angeles Unified students with a District ID number in grades 9th – 12th

College 101: Navigating Your Path Through College to Career
Los Angeles Unified, in conjunction with Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) will offer a virtual/synchronous summer college course for the class of 2024.
The College 101: Navigating your Path through College to Career course will allow students the opportunity to explore career pathways, identify their college readiness strengths and needs, and expand their personal tool-kit for academic success. Students will earn 1 CSU/UC transferable college unit and 5 high school non-equivalent/enrichment course credits. The grade earned will not be counted towards the high school GPA.
Program Dates: June 26 – July 25
Times: 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m
How to Apply:
- Student or School Counselor completes and submits Interest Form.
- District Counselor will contact the student.
- District Counselor will support application and enrollment through Los Angeles Valley College.
- Learning Method: Virtual/Synchronous

Virtual Experience K-12, Summer Enrichment 2023
From learning how to play bass guitar or ukulele with Fender to cartooning and animation with Illumination, the creators of “Despicable Me” and “The Secret Life of Pets,” to learning new cultures through our World Language courses, to an introductory course in the industry of computer science with the Middle School Exploratory Coding course, we have no doubt your child will have a fantastic summer of learning.
