First Year of 3DE School at Crenshaw High School

Crenshaw High School is the first school in California to have the 3-Dimensional Education by Junior Achievement which focus on effectively utilizing their networks, resources, and expertise to maximize the impact and success of the students.

#WeAreLDWest #FirstRobotics #iamFirst Congratulations to Los Angeles HS, Hamilton HS, and Palms MS!!! Their Robotics teams competed in the FIRST Robotics Championship on April 2, 2022. Palms MS received Inspire Award (2nd Place) and Motivate Award (3rd Place), Hamilton High School received Finalist Alliance (1st Team) and Judges Award (2nd Place), and Los Angeles High School placed 1st in Innovated Award. Champions recognize champions! The Los Angeles Rams presented Washington Pre High School and Hamilton High Schools football programs with $2,500 academic grants. STUDENTS COMPETED IN THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS (NSBE) JR. OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEN80

Congratulations to our LD West students, Lucas Boze, Hamilton High School, Ajanai Campbell, Orville Wright Gifted Magnet, Serenity Simpson, Mark Twain Middle School, Kassen Thomas, University High School, who competed in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Jr. of Southern California Ten80 Team. The scholars took First Place in Autonomous Vehicle Challenge at the 48th NSBE National Convention in Anaheim. The team also won 2nd Place - Enterprise Overall, 2nd Place - Team Promotional Video, 2nd Place - Team Presentation, and 3rd Place - Design. Thanks to Northrub Grumman sponsorship, scholars were able to compete in Ten80’s AV Challenge where students integrate electrical, mechanical, and computer systems to meet a series of challenges that parallel AV operations on our neighborhood streets and highways or in remote areas of land, sea, and space. #WeAreGlowingInLDWest

Washington Prep High School students participate with Cadets from U.S. Military Academy in LEADS. Known as the West Point Leadership Ethics and Diversity in STEM Workshop, students are learning the value of ethical and moral leadership, and the how and why of making better choices. Special thanks to Principal Booker, LD West Dr. Brown for their inspiring words and Washington Prep Alum, Capitan Tiki Nelworth, who spoke to students about the challenges he faced and how this program impacted his life.
