In an online learning environment, students will have both digital learning content and hardcopy, print material. Depending on the grade level, some students may have books that they can write in, and other textbooks will be hard cover that must be returned at the end of the year. For more information on District core materials, please look for "Adopted and Approved Instructional Materials" by visiting the Integrated Library, Textbook, and Support Services website.
Core instructional materials are integrated with Schoology and it supports a learner-centered environment. Teachers have the ability to view the "complete picture" of each student, record and track student performance, monitor student learning, communicate with students and parents, and share information with colleagues. Parents now have access to view up to date grades and assignments in real time.
Supplemental Digital Applications are available in addition to the core instruction materials for English language arts, math, science, and other core content areas. LA Unified will be providing supplemental digital learning tools for the 2020-2021 school year to assist with distance learning. These resources are in addition to the adopted digital core instructional applications available through Schoology.
Teachers and staff will be able to install these new apps through the LMS App Center and under the Schoology waffle icon.
