Inner Explorer can have a significant impact on our wellness and mental health. By becoming aware of our emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations, we are better able to:

New Professional Development Opportunity: Wellness Practices for Educators: Mind, Body and Spirit
In this 1-hour restorative PD, participants will learn about the connection between body, mind, and spirit in wellness and will gain strategies for integrating wellness into instruction to manage toxic stress.
ONLY certificated teachers and school-based support staff will be compensated. (one hour training rate)
You may only attend one session.
Administrators, non-school based support staff and SHHS staff can attend, but no compensation will be available.

SEL Leadership Professional Development Opportunities
School site administrators, non school-site administrators and principal supervisors will have the opportunity to deepedn their understanding of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Leadership to proactively engage and sustain positive school cultures. Paricipants will explore how SEL can ssure equitable outcomes for all learners.

Additional Professional Development Opportunities added for June
In order to respond to the requests from teachers, the Social Emotional Learning unit has added the following professional development opportunities to our calendar. All of these trainings are available to Early Education and TK-12 grade teachers, substitutes, school-based program coordinators, support staff and academic counselors. Participants will be compensated at training rate. Please note that you will NOT be compensated, if you have already completed a PD session in the past year.

A Deeper Dive into Social Emotional Learning Integration
In this 5-hour professional development, participants will go deeper into the Social Emotional Learning competencies and learn strategies for integrating SEL & trauma-informed practices into instruction. Participants will be compensated at their training rate.
Offered June 14 and June 15 from 9 AM - 4 PM
Using Social Emotional Learning to Promote Agency, Identity and Belonging
In this 4-hour professional development, participants will explore how to promote agency, identity and a sense of belonging through Social Emotional Learning.
Offered June 12, June 14 and June 16 from 9 AM - 1 PM
Mindfulness for Educators
In this 4-hour professional development, participants will learn about the benefits of Mindfulness. Participants will gain strategies for integrating Mindfulness into instruction to manage toxic stress and trauma.
If you have already taken a Mindfulness training offered by Health Education Programs/ Social Emotional Learning Unit, you will not be compensated.
