• 6th Annual Digital Citizenship Week

For the 2019-2020 school year, Maywood Center for Enriched Studies (MaCES) became the 6th school to serve as a Digital Citizenship Week (DCW) Showcase school. This was the 1st DCW Showcase held at a span school and designed with a parent component. As a DCW Showcase School, MaCES partnered with the Instructional Technology Initiative (ITI) to expand and amplify awareness focused on the positive, empowering practices of digital citizenship. The DCW Showcase included a Digital Citizenship Jeopardy game for high school students; a station rotation experience for middle school students; and student-led workshops for parents.

In addition to this year's DCW Showcase Event, the Instructional Technology Initiative also brought DCW to central office to create greater awareness of how digital citizenship is a practice that is critical for both students and education leaders. District leaders signed the #DigCitCommit pledge to serve as digital citizenship role models for students.

This year's DCW celebration was part of a national coalition and campaign called #DigCitCommit, which is focused on the positive, empowering opportunities of engaging online for college and career success.
