Self-Paced ITI Digital Citizenship Course Available
This course is designed to empower learners to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape. Through a variety of activities, this course will provide opportunities to learn L. A. Unified’s definition of digital citizenship, the District’s policies and promising practices around engaging in digital learning environments, and most importantly provide a wealth of teaching and learning resources that educators can put into practice immediately. Leading Edge EdTech Summit 2020

ITI @ #DigCitCommit Virtual Congress
On February 11-12, 2020, the DigCitCommit Virtual Congress was held at Facebook HQ where featured leaders shared how digital citizenship practices can have a positive impact on the world. L.A. Unified was a featured school district spotlighted for our commitment to digital citizenship over the last five years. ITI Director, Sophia Mendoza, and PPDS, Dr. Vanessa Monterosa, took to the DigCitCommit stage to share promising practices for system-level implementation of digital citizenship from policy to practice. MaCES Cultivates Digital Agents
Maywood Center for Enriched Studies (MaCES) shared a featured message at the DigCitCommit Virtual Congress where Principal Duran, CS Teacher Ms. Camarena, and three students shared how they support and engage in cultivating productive and positive digital footprints. Computer Science Education Week
The 2019 Computer Science Education (CSEd) Week will be from December 9-15, 2019. ITI is looking to highlight District-wide events and activities that promote computer science. CSEd week is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science. This year’s theme is “#CSforGood: Learn computer science, change the world.” Use bit.ly/ITICSE2019to share your highlights with ITI and use #CS4LAUSD when posting on twitter. The Instructional Technology Initiative (ITI) offers District-wide instructional resources to support schools’ completion of the prerequisites and fall readiness checklist items in order to distribute digital tools to students.
