    Classroom View / School View > Course View -- Alignment of Poverty Flag Filter Rule with Focus  

    • The Poverty Flag rule used in the data card filter in Whole Child is now consistent with Focus, including the same meal codes. 

    Metric Catalog -- Updates  

    • Information contained in the Metric Catalog feature of Whole Child (such as metric definitions, calculations, and source information) has been revised to include new entries for recently added metrics and updates to existing entries.

    Integrate Google Classroom Data Throughout the Whole Child Application

    • Academic and achievement data from Google Classroom are now integrated into Whole Child across multiple pages including the following:

    Classroom View / School View > Course View – DIBELS Sub-Measure Filters

    • Whole Child now includes DIBELS sub-measures data cards. While engaged with the DIBELS data card, users may now use DIBELS sub-measures, such as LNF and PSF to filter Time Trending graphs.

    Classroom / School / CoS Performance Views > Student Monitoring-- Enhancements to DIBELS

    Progress Monitoring Growth

    • A Goal column has been added to all DIBELS measures reflected on the DIBELS Progress Monitoring Growth data panel.
    • Exported data now includes the Goal column as well as the Aimline column.

    DIBELS Data Issues Resolution

    • Issues with some individual student assessment scores not displaying in the Student Monitoring View have been resolved; and in Assessment Analytics View, the display of DIBELS Progress Monitoring BOY and MOY benchmark levels in the Student View has been corrected.

    Group View – Page Loading Correction for Counselors

    • All counselors can now open the Group View page, based on group assignment in MiSiS.

    Primary Promise Group Added for K- 2 Students (will be viewable in August once students are enrolled for the new school year)

    • When applicable, the Primary Promise group has been added for K- 2 students in the following locations:
    • Principal Workbench > Course View
    • Principal Workbench > School Performance > MTSS
    • Program View
    • Teacher Workbench > Course Schedule View

    Principal Workbench > At a Glance – Correction to Data in IXL Effect Widget

    • IXL Effect widget now displays data accurately in a year-to-date format.

    Student Monitoring > Challenged – Correction to Secondary Numeracy Data Panel

    • When a student is scheduled in both an Algebra course section (e.g., Algebra 1 or 2) and an Alg Tut Lab course section at the same time, the Secondary Numeracy data panel now displays the information from the main course (e.g., Algebra 1).

    Student Search – Previously Missing Parent Email Addresses

    • Parent Email addresses that display in MiSiS but were not displaying in Whole Child now display in Whole Child.

    Student Health and Human Service (SHHS) Caseload View – Remove S3 Intervention Data

    • Use of the Student Support System S3 has been discontinued and the corresponding intervention information has been removed from the applicable data cards.

    Teacher Workbench – 5 Day Period Attendance Rate

    • In Classroom View, a new 5-day Period Attendance Data Card is now available and is mapped to the attendance data panel in Student Monitoring.

    Tracking at a Glance – New Data Now Available

    Principal Workbench – Principal Portal Link in At a Glance Applications Widget

    • The Applications Widget in At a Glance now includes a link for Principal Portal.

    School Monitoring and Student Monitoring -- Exporting Data Panels with Historical Data

    • An “Export All to Excel” button is now available for obtaining an extract of all records for all years.

    Student Monitoring -- DIBELS Data Panel Filtering  

    • Users can now filter the DIBELS data panel by performance level (Above Benchmark, At Benchmark, Below Benchmark, or Well Below Benchmark).

    Student Monitoring – Color-Coded Renaissance Benchmark Performance Level Lexile Scores  

    • In the Primary and Secondary Literacy Panels, Renaissance Benchmark Performance Level Lexile Scores are now color coded: At/Above Benchmark (Blue); On Watch (Green); Intervention (Yellow/Amber); and Urgent Intervention (Red)

    Student Monitoring – SBAC Summative ELA and Math: Beginning DFS and Prior year DFS Change  

    • Primary Literacy data panels now contain the most current Beginning DFS and Prior year DFS change for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
    • Secondary Literacy data panels now contain the most current Beginning DFS and Prior year DFS change for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. (The logic for beginning DFS for grade levels 9 to 11 was also corrected.)

    Student Monitoring – Secondary Literacy:  Renaissance Upper and Lower ZPD Levels

    • In the Renaissance section, within each of the BOY, MOY, and EOY segments, the Lower ZPD Level and Upper ZPD Level are now displayed in the first two columns.

    Tracking at a Glance, Whole Child View, and Principal At a Glance – Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH)

    • Student log-in data for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) is now available. Additional details can be found in the Instructional Technology Related Student Information Quick Guide available on this website: Quick Links > Professional Development Resources > User Guides & Information. 

    Whole Child View -- Additional DRDP Data Columns

    • Estimated Grade Level and Fall and Spring DRDP scores are now available in new columns.

    CoS Staff User Role Assignment to System of Support Advisors (SoSAs)  

    • Employees who are assigned to the position “System of Support Advisor” at Communities of Schools are now automatically given CoS Staff user role access, based on their human resources position and cost center   

    Integrate Renaissance, IXL, and Edulastic data Throughout the Whole Child Application 

    • Academic and achievement data from Renaissance, IXL, and Edulastic are now integrated into Whole Child across multiple pages including the following:

     Assistant Principal (AP) User Role Access to School Finance Information  

    • Employees with the AP user role can now access school finance information at the following location:  Resource Management (RM) > Finance (FNC) 

     CoS Staff User Role Ability to Impersonate APs  

    • Employees with the CoS Staff user role can now impersonate APs within their Community of Schools at the following location:     School Administrators (SCA) > Click on an employee ID. 

     

    Counselor User Roles Access to School View  

    • From the main navigation menu, Counselors, including Academic, PSA, and PSW, may now access the School View (SVW) screen which provides aggregate data and graph reports describing overall performance for all students at the school. 

     

    DRDP Data Available in Whole Child View  

    • Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) data is now available in the Whole Child View > Early Education > DRDP Details. 
    • DRDP is a comprehensive preschool assessment that provides a look at progress in key areas of learning and child development as children move through Early Education programs; DRDP data provides Kindergarten teachers with key information that supports students as they transition to elementary school curriculum. 
    • In the coming months, additional columns will be added for estimated grade level and fall and spring DRDP scores.

    Additional User Roles Available in oneAccess\CoS 

    Community of School Administrators (CoSAs) may now review and approve access requests for:  

    • CoS Administrator, with access to administrator data for the schools in a particular CoS and the capability to impersonate a principal within the CoS 
    • CoS Staff, with access to non-administrator data for the schools in the applicable CoS

    AP User Role Available to Additional Staff via oneAccess  

    • Principals may provide designees with AP user role access by approving such requests in oneAccess. The requirement for the school site employee to be assigned to an administrator job classification was removed.  Note that the AP user role does not include access to HR staff information.   

     

    Application Links for Principal and Other Workbenches  

    • The At a Glance page for the principals, assistant principals, and Community of School now includes an Applications widget that contains links to commonly used applications such as MiSiS, Focus, Parent Portal, eLibrary, and MyPGSIf the widget does not appear on screen, the user can click the Page Configuration icon at the bottom of the page and select it. 
    • Application links on the Toolbox/landing page for the Teacher and Student Support workbenches now include Clever.  

     

    Principal Workbench / Student Search / Student/Parent PIN & Roster  

    • Users with the Principal or Assistant Principal user role can now access Parent Portal PIN information and student email addresses and PINs by following these steps: 
    • On the main navigation page, under Whole Child (WCHD), select Student Search (SSH). 
    • Note: on this page one may view the Parent Portal PIN information for an individual student by clicking on the arrow to the left of the Student ID. 
    • To view the information for all students at the school, click the Student / Parent PIN Roster button in the upper right corner of the screen.   

     An Excel file of the Student / Parent PIN Roster for the campus downloads, containing Parent Portal PINs as well as student email addresses and PINs.  If a parent has registered on the Parent Portal, the corresponding email address also displays. The roster may be sorted and/or filtered, including by grade level and homeroom teacher; and any column may be used to search for an individual student.  

    Student Support Workbench / Student Search / Student Email and PIN  

    • On the Student Search page, a complete roster of student email addresses and PINs for the entire school is now available for Academic, PSA, and PSW Counselors.  Some parent contact information is also included, such as email address if the parent is registered on the Parent Portal. 
    • This new roster is accessed by following these steps: 
    • Select Student Search (SSH) from the main navigation page. 
    • Note: on this page one may view parent information for an individual student by clicking on the arrow to the left of the Student ID. 
    • Click the Student / Parent PIN Roster button in the upper right corner of the screen.

    • The new feature described above is in addition to the pre-existing Student Email Account Roster popup feature available for each course section on the Course Schedule page.  This is still available with the following feature addition:  When one opens the popup, clicking on the Student / Parent PIN Roster button in the upper right corner downloads the roster with three additional columns:  Parent First Name, Parent Last Name, and Parent Email, which is populated if the parent has registered on the Parent Portal.

    The following additions and changes were made available to users. ā€Æ 

    Notifications for Teacher, Student Support, and Principal Workbenches ā€Æ 

    • A student attendance notification is now sent to users for students who are absent for 60% or more of the instructional week, which is three or more days in a five-day school week.  This notification, based on MiSiS attendance records, remains visible for three days in Whole Child and supports the following California Department of Education (CDE) guidance.   

    In accordance with SB98, schools are to develop written procedures for tiered reengagement strategies for all pupils who are absent from distance learning for more than three schooldays or 60 percent of the instructional days in a school week. These procedures shall include, but are not limited to, verification of current contact information for each enrolled pupil, daily notification to parents or guardians of absences, and a plan for outreach from the school to determine pupil needs, including connection with health and support services as necessary

    Release Notes for Late September and October 2020  

    The following additions and changes were made available to users in October and late September. 

      

    Community of Schools Administrator (CoSA) Pages    

    • The new menu for CoSA users contains three pages:  
    • CoSA at a Glance  
    • CoSA Performance View  
    • School Administrator  

     

    DIBELS Progress Monitoring Dates  

    • BOY and MOY Interval dates for DIBELS Progress Monitoring and cut-off dates for growth calculations have been updated, including in Student Monitoring, Assessment Analytics, and Principal’s At a Glance 

     

    Filters  

    • A School Year filter (defaulted to the current year) was added to the Whole Child navigation menu, allowing users to view historical data.  
    • Location-based users (e.g., Principal, Counselor, Local District, etc.) can change the school year to a previous year (e.g., 2019 – 2020) and look up historical performance data for current-year enrolled students. 
    • For roster-based users (Teachers), changing to a prior school year provides performance data that matches the year of student being taught.  

      

    Principal Workbench / Resource Management / Community View    

    • Information on student devices has been added to the geospatial map layers, allowing the user to see the location of individual students with and without devices, color-coded blue, and red, respectively.  Information about the device type is also available.  

     

    Principal Workbench / Resource Management / Employee View / Staff Profile  

    • The Staff Profile, Details view for teachers now includes a table for PD Completion – Continuity of Learning PD; it includes PD Course Level, Completed (Yes/No), and Completion Date.    

       

    Tracking at a Glance Widgets   

    • The widgets now categorize products/applications/textbooks as either “Core” (applicable only to students enrolled in courses that tie back to the product) or “Supplementary” (applicable to the school type and grade level).   
    • New data sources have been added.  Refer to the Remote Learning Student Related Information Quick Guide by clicking on the link at the top of this What’s New page.
