    GO EAST LA Program Launch

    Working together with East Los Angeles College (ELAC) President Marvin Martinez and California State University, Los Angeles President William A. Covino, Board President Monica Garcia developed GO (Greater Outcomes) East LA to increase the enrollment of East Side students attending college by providing a clear path to a local school. Kicking off at James A. Garfield High School, the goal is to expand to create a bigger impact in the greater Los Angeles area.

    Out For Safe Schools

    “Today we’re blowing the whistle on hate at the LAUSD,” Garcia said. “We’re celebrating National Coming Out Month, and what we are also helping our community know is that our athletic directors and our coaches are all participating in training to build sensitivity around LGBTQ issues.”
