    Getting Ready for College Tests

    Middle School

If your school does not already offer the PSAT 8/9 or the ACT Inspire, school leadership and the counseling team should meet to discuss the possibility of offering this exam or an alternative college readiness activity to prepare students for high-stakes testing in high school.

If available, review PSAT 8/9, ACT Inspire, or other standardized test scores with students and families to help set future goals.  Help students and families identify areas of focus so students will be college ready.

Encourage students to explore colleges in Naviance.  They can match their PSAT/ACT scores with the results of the “Colleges I am thinking of” to create a list of colleges they are considering. They can also compare their score against the range of accepted scores at other private and public colleges.
