Middle Class Scholarship (MCS)
The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) also offers financial assistance for postsecondary education to students enrolled at a California State University or a University of California (UC) or whose family income exceeds the limits for Cal Grants A or B.
You will automatically be considered for the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) if you apply by the March 2nd deadline with the FAFSA or CADAA.
To be eligible, you:
- Must be enrolled at least half time in your first undergraduate program
- Have less than 40 percent of the UC or CSU fees covered by grants and scholarships
- Have family income and assets of $184,000 or less.
MCS are not set amounts, and vary by student needs and institution. Students may be eligible for a scholarship amount between 10% and 40% of the tuition and fees at a UC or CSU campus.
