Credentials, Contract and Compliance Services is responsible for assisting teachers and support services personnel in the completion of contracting and processing requirements after they have been selected to fill various positions. This unit also ensures that every certificated employee has applied for and maintains the appropriate authorization (permit, certificate, credential, waiver, etc.) needed for his/her current assignment. In addition, this site has information regarding signing a first contract, renewing a contract and credential, changing contract and credential status and fingerprinting requirements.
EXTENSION PERTAINING TO PERIOD OF VALIDITY OF EXAMINATIONS FOR CERTIFICATION
Human Resources is pleased to announce that effective April 1, 2017, the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) has approved amendments that will change the period of validity for examinations used toward obtaining a credential or other teaching or services authorization from the current 5 year validity period to 10 years. California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) and California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) examinations for certification passed after April 1, 2007 will now fall under the ten-year window of validity.

Commission on Teacher Credentialing 2015-16 BudgetOn June 24th, the Governor signed the 2015-16 Budget Act, which included language increasing the Commission on Teacher Credentialing's application fee from $70 to $100. This fee increase will become effective on July 1, 2015 and applies to both new and renewed/reissued applications.PER CTC -- January 2015 Statistic: Bilingual Teachers Prepared in California by Language: In 2009-10 more than 1,200 teachers earned a bilingual authorization. In 2012-13, the number of bilingual authorized teachers certified dropped to less than 900, a decline of 35 percent between 2009-10 and 2012-13.
