The LAUSD Board of Education has adopted Resolution 101-16/17 that recognizes and addresses the educational implications of dyslexia. Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability with specific problems in cognitive, linguistic, or perceptual processes that affect reading and spelling development. Early identification and appropriate targeted instructional intervention are effective in preventing and remediating academic challenges related to dyslexia.
