    Sophia Mendoza is a proud alumni of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) where she has served in multiple capacities from a bilingual teacher, coordinator, assistant principal and a principal over the course of her nearly 22-year career with the District. Currently, she serves as Director of the Instructional Technology Initiative (ITI), overseeing the implementation of computer science education and digital citizenship programs across the 900 schools that comprise LAUSD.

    Ms. Allison Jonas is currently the Coordinator Readiness and Instructional Technology Integration. Allison is an accomplished and results driven education professional with more than seventeen years teaching experience and a commitment to student growth, development, and academic success. Notable success in providing students and teachers with the tools and skills required to build and advance toward a framework of 21st century success. Expertise providing Instructional Technology leadership, including visioning, strategic planning, goal-setting, curricular innovation, program evaluation, problem solving, and utilizing management theory and practice.

    Dominic is currently a Specialist for Technology Readiness and Integration with the Instructional Technology Initiative, supporting District educators and leaders in leveraging digital tools and resources through professional learning. He also serves as Computer Science Fundamentals Facilitator since 2014 with Code.org, a global nonprofit dedicated to increasing participation of underrepresented students in computer science. He has supported Code.org's CS expansion by facilitating hundreds of workshops across Central and Southern California and serving close to 5,000 teachers. Dominic previously served as Instructional Technology Specialist for Felicitas and Gonzalo Mendez High School in the Boyle Heights community of Los Angeles; and as Blended Learning Manager for the nonprofit Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, supporting LAUSD's lowest-performing and most underserved K-12 schools. He is a National Board Certified Teacher and provides consulting services to the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards, as well as technology and education organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area.

    Maria Magnanimo-Toledo is currently supporting student achievement in a leadership capacity as a Specialist of Readiness and Instructional Technology Integration with the Instructional Technology Initiative. She is passionate about providing quality adult learning experiences and enjoys developing professional learning opportunities for educators which leverage digital tools and resources to transform instruction. She is an accomplished educator and champion for equity and access in serving a wide variety of students in the nation's second largest school district, LAUSD. Maria is a National Board Certified Teacher and has continuously sought to strategically refine her expertise by seeking a broad and comprehensive instructional background through various positions such as Instructional Coach for Literacy and ELD, Mentor Teacher, Intervention Coordinator, Title 1 Coordinator, GATE Coordinator and classroom teacher to students in grades K-8. Additionally, Maria is a Google Level 1 & 2 Certified Educator, Common Sense Certified Educator, and a Microsoft Innovative Educator.

    James Centeno is a visionary educator with 20+ years of experience in K-12.  He currently is serving as an Instructional Leadership Support Specialist integrating technology to support teaching and learning, and designing professional development for the Los Angeles Unified School District.  In addition to his current role, he was formerly a Literacy Coach and Elementary Language Arts Expert with the same district.  James received a B.A. in Broadcasting and M.A.Ed. in Instructional Technology from California State University Los Angeles.

    Dr. Vanessa Monterosa is outgoing ISTE Digital Citizenship Network co-chair and serves as a Program & Policy Development Specialist for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She joined the L.A. Unified team in 2014 through the Education Pioneers Fellowship to support in the design and development of the District's 1st Social Media Policy for Students. Since then, she has supported the revisions of key district-wide policies and the creation of district-wide strategic instructional technology programs. Currently, Dr. Monterosa manages the system-level implementation of digital citizenship policy and practices with a current focus on cultivating #DigCitLeaders among L.A. Unified executive leaders.

    Catalina is the Senior Secretary with Instructional Technology Initiative.  She started working with LAUSD back in June 2002, a few months after arriving in the USA as an immigrant.  She has been with the district for more than 17 years now.  She provides support for the staff of Instructional Technology Initiative.

    As a Senior Office Technician with the Information Technology Initiative my current duties consist of filing, answering phones, scheduling conference rooms for ITI meetings, operate office machines such as photocopiers, scanners, voicemail systems, personal computer and prepare office supply purchase orders.  A major duty/task is reporting payroll time for teachers and administrators who attend PD training sessions.  Assist with the employment selection process of the Non-school assignment of potential ITI candidates.

    Alejandro Arias is a proud product of LA Unified and has been serving for over 15 years. He has been working as a Multimedia Designer for the past ten years and has a Bachelor degree in Computer Information System and varies of certificates in technology.     Amy Adams, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Amy Adams is an for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Amy has educated students in LA for over 20 years. She holds a Master's in Education Curriculum, a Master's in Educational Leadership, is a National Board teacher, and a Google Certified Trainer. Amy supports technology implementation by providing ISTE standard lessons, Computer Science lessons, and leveraging technology in integrated lessons for teachers and students.

       

    Eduardo Zurita, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Ed Zurita is an ISTE Certified Educator and member of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Division of Instruction Instructional Technology Initiative (ITI) where he helps to lead the district’s 21st century instructional practices through implementation of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards and the district’s Leading with Instruction approach. Mr. Zurita provides professional development, support and training to teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals and other educational staff both in the schools that he serves and throughout the district.

       

    Elizabeth Lester, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Elizabeth Lester began her professional career as a research scientist at Caltech and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She transitioned to LAUSD where she has led students and teachers to become modern day learners for 13 years. As an Instructional Technology Facilitator and Google Certified Trainer, she builds a community of innovators that inspire students to explore their modern world through the use of creativity and critical thinking skills using modern day communication tools.

       

    Gohar Hamo, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Gohar Hamo is an advocate for public education and has served 14 years in multiple capacities within LAUSD. She has used her Master’s in Curriculum Development to effectively teach TK-8th and spearheaded the opening of a Global Gifted Magnet. She currently serves as an Instructional Technology Facilitator and oversees students, teachers, and administrators as they learn to integrate content and pedagogy with technology.

       

    Jamie Galgana, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Jamie Galgana is an enthusiastic Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). During her time as an ITF, she facilitated professional development and coached teachers and students at an ETK-5 school in leveraging technology for instruction, utilizing the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards as a guide in structuring lesson objectives. Jamie is a Google Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator, Common Sense Certified Educator and Flip Grid Certified Educator. She believes in equity and access to computer science education for all and is committed to building strong digital citizens. Ms. Galgana was a classroom teacher for ten years and has worked in partnership with UNLV and UCLA to mentor pre-service teachers to prepare them for the field. Jamie has a Master of Education in Mathematics and a Master of Education and Preliminary Administration Credential. She has presented her learning at the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the Leading Edge Ed Tech Summit (LEETS).

       

    Mabel Lung, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Mabel is passionate about working with teachers to create transformative and meaningful learning experiences for students. She was in the classroom as a National Board Certified Teacher of math for 13 years, and is currently an Instructional Technology Coach for K-12 with LAUSD. She holds are Micro-Credential in STEAM education and is a Google Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and Common Sense Media Educator.

       

    Manuel Vazquez, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Manuel Vasquez grew in the southeast area of Los Angeles where he attended Huntington Park High School. Over his 21-year career with LAUSD, his has served as an elementary teacher, math and instructional coach and, currently, Instructional Technology Facilitator with the Instructional Technology Initiative. He is certified as Common Sense Educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator and Google Trainer.

       

    Maria Franco, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Maria Franco is an educator with experience in K-12, integrating technology to support teaching and learning, and designing professional development. Currently she is serving as an Instructional Technology Facilitator for the Los Angeles Unified School District. In addition to her current role, she was formerly a Technology Coordinator, Intervention teacher and a Data/Problem Solving Coordinator. Maria received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from California State University, Northridge and M.A.Ed in Educational Administration from Concordia University, Irvine.

       

    Michelle Swensson, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Michelle Swensson is an Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). She has served as a classroom teacher for the past 13 years including her role as a co-founder of the ESL Network Cadre, Math Department Chair, and Pearson Learning Facilitator. Currently, she serves as an ITF at an elementary school to empower all students with 21st-century skills including Computer Science Education. She is a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and Google for Education Certified Trainer.

    Renee Sanchez, Instructional Technology Facilitator]

    Renee Sanchez is currently an Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) where she provides support in digital citizenship programs, computer science and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards. Renee is a Google Certified Educator Level 1, Level 2, and a Google Certified Trainer.

       

    Rhoya Prudhomme, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Rohya Prudhomme has worked as an educator in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 12 years. Prior to becoming an Instructional Technology Facilitator, she served as an English teacher, Lead Teacher, and Inclusion Specialist. Rohya is passionate about equity in education and empowering educators to be the leaders of instructional technology at their school sites. Rohya is a Common Sense Certified Educator and Google Certified Educator Level 1 & 2.

       

    Thais Leung, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Thais Leung started her teaching career as an Autism Core Special Education teacher. She has worked in this capacity in both primary and secondary settings. She currently works as an Instructional Technology Facilitator leveraging technology as an instructional tool and building stakeholders' capacity in school communities. Thais is certified as a Google Trainer, Common Sense Educator, Microsoft Innovator, and Apple Teacher.

       

    Tikisha Harris, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Tikisha Harris is an Instructional Technology Facilitator with LAUSD’s Instructional Technology Initiative. She has been an educator for over 20 years. Tikisha has taught in Georgia, California and Texas. She also taught in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining ITI, Tikisha worked as an elementary and secondary teacher librarian. Throughout her career, it has been Tikisha’s goal to empower students to be global collaborators, critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information for the 21st century.

       

    Veronica Bonilla, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Veronica Bonilla has been an educator at the Los Angeles Unified School District for the past 21 years. During this time, she served as a classroom teacher, Intervention Coordinator, and Targeted Student Population Adviser. Veronica is currently an Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF); she works closely with school leadership teams and teachers to design innovative practices that will support teaching and learning. Veronica is a Google level 2 certified educator, a Commonsense Certified Educator, and a Microsoft Innovative Educator.

       

    Wen-Wen Cheng, Instructional Technology Facilitator

    Creativity, compassion, and critical thinking are three of the values that Wen-Wen Cheng strives to support as an educator. She holds a M.Ed. in Elementary Education from UCLA and is a Google Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and a Common Sense Educator. She has served LAUSD in multiple capacities, including an Elementary Teacher, Mathematics and Title III Instructional Coach, and Common Core Mathematics Expert. Wen-Wen now dedicates her time supporting school communities as an Instructional Technology Facilitator where she enjoys exploring ways in which instructional technology can raise academic achievement.
