Contributions to School Community
The EDST process also provides an opportunity for teachers to demonstrate contributions to their school community. While this is optional, the purpose of this measure is to recognize the numerous contributions teachers make to their school community outside of their classroom. The measure is aligned to Elements 4b3: Engagement of Families in the Instructional Program and Element 5b2: Promotes a Culture of Professional Inquiry and Collaboration. While these contributions and practices are not directly observed in the classroom, strong evidence of their occurrence is critical to a school’s success as a learning community for all. Teachers may choose to upload artifacts of their practice throughout the school year.
