Local District West-Music Festival
“West Side Serenade”
What: A Local District West music festival showcasing the abundant talents
of our students (elementary through secondary) with musical performance at the
forefront.
Why: In partnership with The Arts Education Branch and Beyond the Bell, this community event is central in creating a true sense of community! Local District West’s West Side Serenade will use that most
universal medium, music, to bring groups together from all across our diverse
region and create that community.
How: The festival will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Venice High
School. Venice High School is the ideal setting as it is part of a great
community among a high traffic area that will bring in passers-by with food
trucks, and a highly-visible front lawn in which will accommodate a
festival-like atmosphere. Students from across elementary, middle, and high schools in Local District West will take the
stage! These performers will not just entertain; students will stand
as a testament to successful performing Arts pathways, from elementary to
high school, while also showcasing skills that influence student success in college, careers of choice, and civic
life.
April 22, 2017 | 10AM-3PM
