    Eligibility Requirements

    LAUSD District Intern Program is no longer accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year.  To apply for the 2019-20 school year, please note the deadline to apply and meet minimum requirements for Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) is February 1, 2019; all other subjects due March 1, 2019.

    Eligibility Requirements

    District Intern Program (for those who do not currently hold a credential). Applications will NOT be considered without the Subject Matter Competency requirement met.

    • Degree from accredited college or university
    • Official transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 2.7
    • CTC Basic Skills Requirements: http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/cl667.pdf
    • Meet U.S. Constitution requirement via exam or coursework
    • Subject Matter Competency (Passed all sections of the appropriate CSET exam)

    Note: For Special Education, CSET in Multiple Subject OR a core academic subject area (Science, Math, English or Social Science) will satisfy this requirement. For Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) this is NOT a requirement.

      

    CENTSE (Credentialed Educators Now Teaching Special Education)

    • Education Credential (Preliminary or Clear) 
    • CTC Basic Skills Requirements: http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/cl667.pdf
    • Subject Matter Competency in General Education subject via exam (CSET, MSAT or Subject Matter Waiver)
    • U.S. Constitution requirement via exam or coursework

    Your pre-employment application will be reviewed based on date received or revised, and evaluated based on District need. If you meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the DI program and full time employment, you may be extended an invitation to participate in the eligibility selection interview process.
