UNIVERSITY INTERN SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Los Angeles Unified School District provides support for teachers hired to teach on a University Intern Permit who must meet the terms of their employment contract in addition to meeting the responsibilities of their teaching position.
Remain in good standing with the District, your school and your university
Attend LAUSD New Teacher Orientation (prior to signing contract)
Sign your Contract
Complete/Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- University Intern Support Program Profile & Personalized Program Plan
Attend University Intern Information Session within 60 days of signing contract (Register on MyPLN)
English Learner Requirement
- 45 hours with your university (requires Univ. confirmation) OR
- 22.5 hours at University and 22.5 hours with LAUSD
- Register for and attend 6 hour face to face session(on MyPLN)--TBD
- Complete online EL components
University Intern Mid-Program Check-in (waived if you are on track for completion)
University Intern End of Program Check-in-----Register on MyPLN--select a date near projected completion
Work with the District assigned Mentor Teacher –approx. 2 hrs per week
Monitor LAUSD email regularly and respond to all LAUSD requests for information in a timely manner
Induction ProgramOnce you have completed your intern program requirements you will need to be accepted into an Induction Program to complete your clear credential requirements.
