• The California Promise Initiative (CaPROMISE) represents the opportunity for multiple organizations to provide coordinated services and supports designed to increase economic self-sufficiency of child SSI recipients ages 14-16 and their families.  The services help child recipients achieve better outcomes, including graduating from high school ready for college and a career, completing postsecondary education and job training, and obtaining competitive employment in an integrated setting. Partners include the California Department of Rehabilitation, California Department of Education, California Department of Developmental Services, California Department of Health Care Services, California Department of Social Services, California Employment Development Department, 18 local educational agencies and San Diego State University’s Interwork Institute.  The Los Angeles Unified School District’s CaPROMISE Program has the opportunity to work with select families overcome barriers, and increase educational and career outcomes.  For more information contact Joseph Lee (CaPROMISE Specialist) at 213-241-8050 or visit https://www.capromise.org
