About Diane H. Pappas
Diane H. Pappas is a seasoned executive leader recognized for implementing cohesive and high performing strategies to large-scale, complex problems. Most recently, she led a team of more than 300 people in turning around one of the largest student data projects in the country, the My Integrated Student Information System (MiSiS) project. In June 2017, Diane was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of District Operations and Digital Innovation for the Los Angeles Unified School District, the nation’s second largest school district. In this new role Ms. Pappas oversees the following L.A. Unified Divisions:
- Facilities Services Division
- Information Technology Division
- District Operations
- KLCS-58 television station
- Enterprise Project Management Office
Ms. Pappas serves on the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet and works closely with her colleagues on the senior leadership team to ensure the District is investing wisely and working efficiently to enhance and contribute to student success.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Pappas served as a key leader on the management team of the District’s Office of the General Counsel for over 10 years. In this capacity, she was charged with restructuring and managing various legal teams, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets and recruiting new attorneys and legal professionals to assist in managing complex litigation.
A long-time champion for children’s rights, she is passionate about the education and safety of all children and has thus far dedicated herself to providing legal expertise and leadership to advance the District's goals to provide a high quality education to every student in a safe and nurturing environment. Diane is also a prolific writer and has published numerous children's books.
