    Welcome to the Personnel Commission of the Los Angeles Unified School District!


    The Personnel Commission is proud to oversee the recruitment and hiring, promotional processes, and professional development of over 26,000 permanent classified employee positions of the 2nd largest school district in the nation.

    Our team focuses on upholding the tenets of merit in employment opportunities through a competitive employment assessment process, while aligning strategically with the priorities and hiring needs of the LAUSD, and providing EXCELLENT customer service while doing so. 
    To accomplish these goals, much energy is focused on planning, forecasting, and getting ahead of challenges so that our efforts will result in smart solutions that are sustainable, replicable, relevant, and solid.

    The District utilizes a visitor management security system. In order to gain entrance to the building, visitors will be required to present a valid picture identification to security staff in the lobby.
