    MiSiS Announcements

Office Summons Report - The MiSiS team is working to address the issues with this report. We expect to have the issues resolved by the end of next week, Friday, May 19th.

Magnet Kindergarten Enrollments - Magnet schools need to enroll students for 2017-18 school year if the student was not currently enrolled in an LAUSD school. The parent/guardian should complete an enrollment packet and the magnet school will need to enter the enrollment information in MiSiS. Students who are currently enrolled in a LAUSD school will have a 2017-18 enrollment automatically created by the Next Year Enrollment process.

Special Education Student Transfers - Schools with students in special education, whose placement will change for 2017-18 school year, according to their IEP, must enter a Student Transfer record in MiSiS using a transfer reason of Special Education Placement. Please refer to REF-6646.1 2017-18 Next Year Enrollment for All Students. The Entering a Transfer Record job aid provides directions for entering a transfer.

Student Photos - Student photos were disabled while the MiSiS team optimized the performance of network servers. While the goal is to maintain the appearance of photos in MiSiS, there may still be intermittent interruptions as the MiSiS team continues to optimize the performance of photos on the Advanced Search, Student Profile, and Teacher attendance screens.

Grades – The new ‘Grades Audit Report’ is available and displays any grade changes made to student courses within any selected Term and Grading Period. The report can be accessed by Secondary School Administrators and generated at the school or student level. The report is found under Reports > Grades > Grades Audit Report.

The following items have been fixed or updated in MiSiS:

    Transcripts

    • The Transcript Audit screen has been updated to include more details of any changes made to final grades and courses within the Transcript Screen.

    MiSiS Announcements

    Enrollment

    • When enrolling students for the current school year, please make sure to select the 2016-2017 school year. Selecting the 2017-2018 school year should only be used for students that are enrolling for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Enrolling a student in the wrong school year will impact scheduling and attendance taking.
    • Several matriculating students have an enrollment record to a school that is not their boundary school. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible. In the meantime, the sending school can create a transfer record to the correct boundary school.

MiSiS Explorer will be retired by the end of the 2017 calendar year (December 31st, 2017). MiSiS Ad Hoc Reporting provides all capabilities available in MiSiS Explorer.
