The District has updated three important special education publications that are provided to parents as part of the special education process.
MEM 6764.0: "Special Education Parent Workshops for 2016-2017" contains the following information: dates and locations for the Modified Consent Decree (MCD) parent trainings, Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings, and various parent workshops being offered throughout the District by the Division of Special Education during the 2016-2017 school year.
Section N of the IEP has been updated to accommodate the automation of translation requests. Click the link for more information regarding submitting requests for written IEP Translations. This information is also available on the Welligent Announcements page.

Training Schedule for Oral Interpretation at IEP Team Meetings - Fall and Spring 2016-2017.
A new requirement of the Modified Consent Decree (MCD) mandates that Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams read aloud the following statements at every IEP team meeting, regardless of parent attendance. Also included is an IEP Team Meeting Agenda. Both English and Spanish are included.
California Education Code (EC) sections 56390–56392 allows students with disabilities to participate in graduation ceremonies and activities. They may participate whether or not they have completed all state and local graduation requirements for a diploma or certificate or document of educational achievement.
