MISSION: The Office of School Choice provides needs-based, differentiated services and supports, across Los Angeles Unified School District's wide range of schools and diverse communities. to improve student achievement, and increase student and community engagement.

 

VISION: Every LAUSD student will have a choice in accessing high quality schools.

 

The Office of School Choice (OSC) provides school choice mechanisms and needs-based, differentiated services and supports, across Los Angeles Unified School District’s wide range of schools and diverse communities, to improve student achievement and increase student and community engagement.

 

  • The OSC manages enrollment for the following offices: Student Integration Services (198 sites; ~54,000 students); Zones of Choice (18 zones; ~30,000 students); District K-12 Open Enrollment (100+ sites; ~5,000 students); and Intra-District Permits (~650 students).
  • The Office of School Choice (OSC) supports the governance of autonomous schools through the Pilot Schools Steering Committee and Local Options Oversight Committee (24 ESBMM, 17 LIS, and 51 Pilot Schools).
