LAUSD Education Service Center (ESC) Maps: Performance and School Type
Elementary School -> Maps Available in mid-September 2012
The Los Angeles Unified School District’s portfolio of schools include pilot schools, Network Partnership schools (non-profit organizations serving as Education Management Organizations [EMOs] for one or more LAUSD schools), Expanded Site-Based Management Models (ESBMM) and affiliated charter schools. These new school models are in addition to the options already available through the system’s magnet program, independent charter schools, and a growing number of dual immersion programs.
The Creating and Supporting Quality Schools Team has conducted a thorough analysis of the existing school support and improvement mechanisms to realize the vision of an expanded Intensive Support and Intervention Network that uniformly supports all school models through common accountability frameworks, tailored programmatic offerings and responsive oversight.
Quality schools have several shared tenets, such as: strong culture, solid curriculum, shared practices, reflective instructional leaders, accurate assessments and autonomous decision making power. Under the new network, the Creating and Supporting Quality Schools Team believes it will be able to more effectively cultivate and support the necessary components of excellent schools to provide every child in LAUSD with a quality education.
