Operations Support Division (OSD) personnel support safe school operations using multiple resources. OSD consists of Motor Unit personnel, Parking Enforcement personnel, Canine Unit personnel, Administrative Headquarters building security, and Adult School operations.
Motor Unit personnel assist with safe passage patrol at Campus Service Bureau school locations. Motor Unit personnel also facilitate Traffic Safety Valet programs, respond to school traffic enforcement requests, and conduct traffic safety presentations to students, staff, parents, and community members.
Parking Enforcement Unit personnel respond to parking related issues that impact school sites. Parking Enforcement Unit personnel also assist with Traffic Safety Valets at school sites and conduct classroom presentations to students, staff, parents, and community members.
Canine Unit personnel conduct narcotics related searches at school sites at the request of school site administrators. Canine Unit personnel complete presentations and demonstrations to students, staff, parents, and community members. In addition, Canine Unit personnel augment CSD patrol functions in an effort to safeguard District assets and property.
Administrative Headquarters Building school safety officers ensure a safe environment for LAUSD Administrative staff and visitors. School Safety Officers assigned to the headquarters building receive additional training in high-rise security and building emergency procedures.
Adult School Operations security officers provide security coverage for adult school sites during day and night time hours. Assigned personnel are part-time sworn employees that provide security coverage at adult school locations.
