    We are pleased to announce the DOUBLE-HEADER for the Spring 2017 Autonomous School Workshops!

    Schools interested in having more autonomy over local decisions, to better meet the needs of their students, may choose to send a School Design Team to the required sessions.  Explore the three current autonomy models:  LIS, ESBMM and Pilot.

     

    WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION AND DATE: June 13, 2017


    WORKSHOP #1 - Overview:  Becoming an Autonomous School

    Topics may include:

       What autonomy means and how it may be implemented for maximum positive impact to your school

       How to create a culture of collaboration

       Dealing with adversity or conflict during the process

     

    WORKSHOP #2 - RFP Walkthrough and Model Specific Information

    Topics may include: 

       Building a better RFP

       Choosing the Autonomy Model that's right for your school

     

    Local Options Oversight Committee (LOOC) Double-Header

    (Workshops 1 and 2, back-to-back)

    LOCATION: UTLA BUILDING

                        3303 Wilshire Blvd., Room 815

                        Los Angeles, CA 90010

                        (Parking behind the UTLA building.  Enter on Berendo St.)

     

    • Workshop 1 – OVERVIEW: Becoming an Autonomous School

              Time:  9:00-11:30 am

     

    • Workshop 2 – Walkthrough of the RFP (Completing the Application)

              Time: 12:30 – 3:00 pm

     

    Representatives from a school must attend BOTH WORKSHOPS before a school is eligible to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) and proposal for one of the Autonomy Models.

     

    LOOC workshops are open to all: principal, chapter chair, other teachers, classified staff and parents from your school.

    No, come and learn about the available options - NO OBLIGATION!

     

    Who should attend?

    These workshops are open to all:  Principal, Chapter Chair, Teachers, Classified Staff, Parents ~ a diverse Design Team provides different perspectives.

     

    Do we need to attend ALL sessions?

    School teams must attend ONE scheduled date of each session in order to qualify to submit an RFP.  So, you must attend one of the Session 1 – Overview dates, and one Session 2 – Walkthrough dates.  You may choose the date/location that is best for you.
