The Student Health and Human Services (SHHS) Division provides a comprehensive array of services that support student achievement and success in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Together, each department plays an important role in reducing barriers to success for students by ensuring their health physically, mentally and emotionally. The units that comprise Student Health and Human Services are:
Community Partners and Medi-Cal Programs
District Nursing Services
School Mental Health
Student Medical Services
In addition, the Division works closely with the Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health, an independent nonprofit affiliated with LAUSD.
Collectively, these units supplement instruction to create a safe and welcoming environment for the district’s children to learn and grow.
