Celebrating Black History Month

Message from the Superintendent

Michelle King
In recognition of February as Black History Month, we are encouraging all schools to engage in activities celebrating the contributions African-Americans have made throughout history.

We are pleased to announce that there is a wonderful exhibit at Los Angeles City Hall that recognizes many prominent African American leaders who have had a positive influence on American history and culture.

Spanning multiple floors, the extensive display is an inspiring symbol of the significant role so many talented and influential figures of African heritage have had in shaping our nation and our world.

The exhibit will be on display and open to the public and our schools through the month of February.
